Tour of Herefordshire

A drive through the small villages and hamlets in Herefordshire on the way to Ledbury. Lots of old timber black and white houses looking postcard perfect. On the way home we stopped off at Wyre Forest for a quick cross-country half marathon. Holly did well, but the less said about my efforts the better.

Clapton Festival and the Cakes

Holly took the day off on Friday, to slave away in the kitchen (aka standing next to the cake mixer) to prepare about 6 variaties of cake for the Clapton Festival in Hackney. A small-ish, local affair, but the sun came out in the afternoon and we busy slicing and serving to all the Hackney folk. More events to come hopefully.

5k Your Way

Holly took park in the 5k Your Way run. Only open to employers of all the council boroughs in London, which meant I could only stand around and watch this time. It did mean I could take a few photos and watch Holly run to the finish line with a PB of 18m 15. Not a bad effort although I reckon the course was a bit short or a few corners were cut.

Lots of Running

A 5k run in Hackney Marshes, followed by a 10k run around Regents Park on Sunday. All the good work was promptly undone with a full English breakfast in Little Venice.

The Lotus Elan +2

My new old, very old Lotus Elan +2. It’s a running project and I need to fix a few minor things. A distance of approximately 10 metres seems to work best at the moment. The Twin-cam sounds great though.

And the Reindeer Run winner is…

The Reindeer Run 10k was postposned just before Christmas because of the snow and ice. The race was ran today, and the first lady home (and second overall) was Miss Holly Gilbert. Another medal and glass trophy to add to the collection with a time of 39 minutes. I managed a time of just over 47 minutes which was a good 9 minutes better than my last run, so watch out Miss G. And yes, we did wear the Antlers throughout the entire race.
